The Assembly continued the transformation process of the German National Award Authority, which it had initiated two years ago, with changes at the level of the association's board. Karsten Vogel was given the responsibility of the National Director, a position his father Klaus Vogel had held for nearly seventeen years, the last eight of them in one person with the association’s chairman. Through this offices separation, Klaus can now concentrate on the task of leading the German Award, while Karsten will direct its operations.

The change at the top will be honoured in an official ceremony later in the year. Also, the Executive Board was expanded from five to eight members, with Sebastian Kurz (Expeditions section), Marco Salm (Consulting of Operating Authorities) and Dominik Salm (Gold Network) newly elected. “That six out of us eight team members are Gold Award Holders is, as far as I know, unique in the world” Klaus said. In order to get even more members from around the country, team meetings can now also be held in the form of videoconferences.
