Courses – IASS 2008 consists of four different courses: Award Leaders Course, Expedition Course, Award Officers Course and Workshops

Costs – For participants from abroad, Summer School is free, but they have to care of their insurance and travelling costs. For Germans, participation is free as well, if they use Alte Bahnmeisterei (communal bunks) for their accommodation

 

Dinner – Every day, all IASS 2008 participants have dinner together. Locations are announced during the seminar

Health issues – There is a reciprocal health agreement with the UK and most EU countries, whose citizens are entitled to free medical and dental treatment on presentation of a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Nationals of other countries should take out medical insurance. Sometimes, medical practitioners will request up-front payment (especially if there is no reciprocal health care agreement)

Home stays – A local family hosts two participants of the Israeli group

 

Insurance – Each IASS 2008 participant has to care for his / her personal insurance. In accordance with a European Council decision, visa holders are required having travel health insurance valid for the entire Schengen area with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.

Interview – Preparing interviews is part of both the Award Leaders Course and the Award Officers Course

Invitation Letter – In order to get a visa, more often than not a personal invitation letter is compulsory

 

Journalism – Practically done by interviews, portraits and reports prepared during the different courses; also optional workshop

 

Laptop – Optional part of personal equipment

Lunch – L. takes place in Alte Bahnmeisterei or outdoors
