The „Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Bermuda“ is official partner of Summer School 2011 and will attend the two- week event with ten leaders and 20 young people. “I am excited to confirm with you at last evening’s meeting, our Standards and Training Committee has approved our participation in your IASS 2011 (July 1st, 2011 to August 14th, 2011)!! A large part of our decision to come to Germany was how organised and prepared you were – for 2011! That fact certainly made the decision an easy one”, wrote National Director Tina Nash in an e-mail from August 25th, 2010.
Bermuda’s brand new flyer for Summer School 2011 was one of the highlights of the International Evening of this year’s Summer School. In the meantime, the very committed new partners have already published a Facebook page on the event: www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=140868829288804. Information about the DofE in Bermuda can be found here: www.theaward.bm.
Furthermore, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), already represented this year by Shafiq Rassa, intends to participate in the 6. International Summer School with a delegation of seven members. As therefore only a few places are left, the deadline was brought forward to April 2nd, 2011. Further information can be found at www.jugendprogramm.de/summer-school-2011.
