Dear friends

For this mail we collected some details concerning clothes and equipment from the website. If you want us to provide you with any of these items, just contact us (not later than Friday evening).

  1. Record Book. Young people using IASS as their Residential Project should not forget to bring their Record Book.

  2. Sleeping Bag. If you prefer staying overnight in our training centre “Alte Bahnmeisterei” (www.jugendprogramm.de/hilfe/alte-bahnmeisterei/AlteBahnmeistereiE) using mattresses on the floor or camp beds, maybe you would like to bring your own sleeping bag with you.

  3. Personal Expedition Kit. The Award Leaders Course will involve a tour of about four hours walking in the – possibly cold and wet – late summer / early autumn countryside in Germany. Therefore your personal expedition kit should include

    1. A cagoule/a coat (waterproof and windproof)

    2. A camera (optional)

    3. A cap or a hat

    4. A mug (non-breakable)

    5. A Personal First Aid Kit (optional)

    6. A pocket knife (optional)

    7. Walking boots (optional)

    8. Walking trousers (NOT jeans)

    9. Waterproof overtrousers (optional).

    10. Personal Fitness & Outdoor Games Kit

  4. Personal Fitness and Games Kit. Outdoor fitness activities (like football, running or swimming) and outdoor games (like icebreakers, problem solvers or team builders) are essential parts of every year’s Summer School. What exactly will be done depends on the skills of the participants, who will eventually lead them, the weather conditions – and time available. So please don’t forget to add to your pack list

    1. A fleece

    2. Swimming gear

    3. Towels

    4. Trainers.

  5. Personal Seminar Kit. Items, which could help you during the different seminar sessions:

    1. Camcorder (optional)

    2. Digital camera (optional – please don’t forget your USB cable!)

    3. Laptop (optional)

    4. Local and / or national Award / Country & People media including press articles, photographs and videos (to be presented in an “Award Exhibition” during the International Evening)

    5. Writing utensils

    6. USB stick (minimum 2 GB – if you want to take hundreds of photographs and other IASS documentation back home).

Best wishes,

Klaus
