After intense preparations the German Award's first On-site Visit of the year took place at the Gymnasium Stift Keppel. This successful audit has set new standards: for the first time, not only participants, the Award team and school management were involved in the interviews but also the parents of the participants – and for the first time a joint barbecue on Friday evening offered time for an informal exchange between all the stakeholders.

After intense preparations, which included two Skype conferences with Award Coordinator Thomas Mockenhaupt, the German Award's first On-site Visit of the year took place at the Gymnasium Stift Keppel (North Rhine-Westphalia) from Friday afternoon to Saturday lunch. This successful audit has set new standards: for the first time, not only participants, the Award team and school management were involved in the interviews but also the parents of the participants – and for the first time a joint barbecue on Friday evening offered time for an informal exchange between all the stakeholders. Another first is the fact that all three auditors were board members of the German Award: Barbara E. Oehl (Gilzem, co-auditor), Karsten Vogel (Tübingen, lead auditor) and Klaus Vogel (Osterburken). A big thank you goes to all involved!
