The eighth and final Leaders Course for 2011 was held at Berlin Brandenburg International School in early December. This time four Gold Level participants took the opportunity to join their teachers in extending their knowledge of the program in theory and practice. Anna Wöckel from the KJR Pinneburg, the only external participant, was quickly integrated into the friendly and enthusiastic group. Simon Pönisch, Steve Gregory and Eva Wilke, all three training to become trainers, supported Karsten Vogel in leading the course.
Well prepared for their Mini Expeditions, two groups set off to experience the wet and windy backwoods of Klein Machnow, while the Gold participants clearly enjoyed their new roles as supervisors and assessors for their teachers.
Thanks to Karsten’s expertise and patience, by Sunday afternoon all participants and trainee trainers had gained valuable hands on experience and increased their understanding of delivering the program. The participants are looking forward to joining the largest Award team in the country and supporting their students in discovering the “more” that is in them!
