The International Award continues to gain momentum in the Munich region. Thus a double course was needed to train the motivated Leaders and Gold Participants from Munich International School (MIS), Bavarian International School (BIS) and the European School of Munich (ESM). The courses were supported by six (!) trainers in training and so in true Award fashion, many individual contributions made for an enjoyable and stimulating weekend.

The courses were hosted on the beautiful campus of MIS in Starnberg, where woods and fields begin at the doorstep – perfect territory for the mini-expedition. Under clear blue skies, with an occasional view of the mountains, not only the mini-expedition, but also some of the sessions were held on grass or terraces whenever possible.

The new Leaders took away many new ideas for implementing the Award in their schools as well as a deeper understanding of the programme. The Gold participants in their role as supervisors and assessors on the Expedition, enjoyed the opportunity to be responsible for others and see the Award “from the other side.” The three schools made use of the chance to strengthen the connections among them and begin planning joint ventures for the future.

Thanks to participants, trainers and organizers, it was an exemplary weekend of cooperation and fun!
