Would you please first tell something about yourself.

I am 17 years old and I live in Miilya village in Israel. I study physics and mathematics in Tarshiha high school. My hobbies are playing tennis and basketball and listening to music.

I know already that you are involved with the Israel Youth Award. What kind of activities did you do or are you doing?

I did four kinds of activities and I am still doing them. They are hobbies, sports, community service, travelling and knowing the Country. And I did for each one something: for sport I played and still playing tennis, for the community service I taught the Award programme for young children, for the hobbies I took learned art and for knowing the country I travelled several trips in Israel and knowing a lot of new places.

When will you finish the Award programme?

I will finish the Award programme in the next year.

How many students at your school are taking part?

There are a lot of students taking part in the Award programme but I don’t know the exactly number for them.

Why should young people take part?

Young people should take part in this programme because it makes their personality stronger and it raises their self-confidence and this is very important for young people to build their personality when they are young. The Award programme is not just helping young people building up their personality, it helps them to look different to this world, and it opens their eyes for the unknown future.

You are part of a youth exchange with young Germans and Israeli. Why did you take part?

I took part because I like Germany – but that isn’t the reason. The reason is that there is a history between Germans and Israelis and it wasn’t a good history so we would like to make a good future between Germans and Israelis and to make a good and strong relationship between us.

What is your main impression of the last two weeks in Germany?

My main impression about the two weeks is that I have reached our main goal and we had made a good relationship between the Germans and the Israelis. Now I have a lot of new German friends and I am glad for that.

What was your best experience?

I can’t choose what experience was the best because I had a lot of new experiences and all of them were great. But I still have two in my mind and them I will never forget. They are the canoeing experience and the expedition, which were very hard, but after all they were the best.

Why?

Because I never tried this kind of experiences, especially sleeping in the forest and walking for a very very long distance and in the same time you have to carry a very heavy stuff with you. But I liked it and I would like to try it again.

And which one was the worst?

There wasn’t a worst experience

Why?

Because every experience had her kind of beauty.

Is two weeks too long, too short or just okay?

I thing it is just okay. But don’t understand me wrong – not that I mean that we had enough from Germany and the Germans but we just miss our families and our friends in Israel.

Do you have an idea for other activities that should be done in future ventures?

Ya I have. You can make one big expedition that includes all the adventures like what we had (walking for 15 km and then sleeping in the forest) but to add to it something like diving and riding bikes...

What do you think is the main difference between life and people in Germany and in Israel?

The main difference between the two peoples is that the German people are more friendly, quiet and have lots of passions that Israelis don’t. The difference between the two lives is that in Germany everything is on time.

Did you recognise any interesting differences between young people from both countries?

Not really, both of them are very friendly and open-minded.

Would you like to take part in future German-Israel youth exchanges as a leader?

Ya, of course.

Why?

Because I liked my first experience here and I had lots of fun and I would like to do it again.

What else would you like to say?

I hope this relationship will continue in the future and I would like to invite you all to Israel and visit the Holy Land.

Bye, see you in Israel....
